Local fire and flood restoration specialists, Richfords Fire and Flood, have been asked to lend a hand in the affected flood regions in the midlands and the north. Richfords who have their headquarters in Pool, Camborne, usually only offer their specialist services to the South West.
“Due to the severity of the flooding in the north of the country we were asked to send our units to offer assistance to the restoration firms up there, who are understandably over stretched” says Steven Richford, Managing Director for Richfords.
“It has been one of the wettest Junes on record. Therefore our industry, which is normally quiet this time of year, is working flat out this is why our extra help was requested” continues Mr Richford
Richfords who have been operating in the damage management sector for over 25 years, are considered to be one of the most technically competent firms in the country. “We are a corporate member of the British Damage Management Association (BDMA) and as such our technicians are qualified to the highest standard” comments Michael Cooper Marketing Specialist for Richfords.
“Because of our excellent reputation it was not a surprise that we where asked, by the insurance companies, if we where able to help with the flooding in the north of the country. Of course we where glad to help, it is important that all of the companies in our industry pull together when major incidents like this occur, it was the same in 2004 when Boscastle was flooded” Continues Mr Cooper.
Insurers have estimated that the damage caused by the flooding will total nearly £200m. Not all of this is confined to Yorkshire and the Midlands. As well as sending their technicians up county Richfords are working on many localised flooding incidents throughout Cornwall and Devon.
“In the South West alone we are currently working on the same number of jobs we would normally have in the autumn. This clearly demonstrates just how poor the weather has been this year” sums up Mr Cooper
Fortunately there are companies like us to help people get there lives back, following flooding. Most people hope they will never be affected by a fire or a flood and even fewer realise there are companies who exist just to help.
