Richfords Fire & Flood took part in an exciting kayaking expedition from Truro to raise money for Shelterbox on Saturday 27th June.
The team of 17 members of staff set off in the sunshine from Malpas with the outgoing tide and in total paddled over 102km. The aim was to raise money for Helston based charity Shelterbox, which is one of the charities Richfords is proud to support.
“It was a fantastic day and the team really rose the to challenge. The weather was perfect and everyone worked really hard to cover the distance, especially as we came out into the Carrick Roads and the water was quite choppy.” Comments Mike Cooper, Business Development Manager for Richfords Fire & Flood.
The team enjoyed it so much that several members are now planning on purchasing their own kayaks, and the company will definitely be arranging more kayaking expeditions in the future.
Richfords Fire & Flood, a local damage restoration firm, are pleased to be involved with Shelterbox. Steven Richford, Managing Director at Richfords Fire & Flood said “Richfords are dedicated to restoring homes and businesses following damage causing incidents such as fire and floods, and felt that our work on a local basis linked to the work Shelterbox do on a global scale. Richfords are thrilled to be involved with Shelterbox.”
Having already completed the Carn Brea – Mount Everest Challenge last month and raised enough to fund one full Shelterbox, Richfords are pleased to be able to continue their fundraising for the disaster relief charity and through the kayaking trip they have raised enough to fund another Shelterbox.
