Giving Helpful Advice

Is any electrical wiring or equipment damaged?

Ask a competent electrician to make safe before use. Does anyone in the property suffer from allergies, breathing problems or asthma?

These people should keep away until the air quality has improved.
Soot particles and gases can be unhealthy. Ventilation can help. If
in doubt seek medical advice. All persons should take precautions to reduce inhalation of particles and post fire gases by ventilation or wearing breathing respirators.

Is the property secure?

Broken glass and locks may need urgent repair. If caused by the
incident, the building insurer will normally pay for emergency
boarding up.

Testing fire residues.

We are able to test fire residues for chloride levels following fires.
The higher the level of chloride, the greater the risk of corrosion. The results of this testing are immediately available.
The results help us decide whether we need to take urgent preventative action to arrest corrosion damage of valuable items such as electronics or electrical equipment.

Reducing damage - fires.

As with water damage, our Quick Response vehicles are ready at all times to respond to your call for assistance.
When on site we quickly take action to prevent corrosion, staining and to improve air quality.

We set up equipment to remove airborne particles. These are both a health hazard to susceptible individuals, and can result in new contamination as they settle from the air.
Emergency boarding up.

Securing properties following fire or theft is essential to reduce
possibility of further losses.

Richfords have partnership arrangements with the Cornwall
Fire and Rescue Service to secure properties following incidents.
Boarding up is an important service which Richfords perform to increase customer security and peace of mind.
