Furniture restoration

The aged patina on antique furniture can be removed by over-zealous restoration following fire damage or smoke damage. To avoid this, we carry out conservative restoration of the fire damage.

We favour restoration rather than re-finishing. We are usually able to remove water marking or smoke damage from furniture finishes by careful treatment of the existing finish, to restore its pre-incident condition.

Some of our restoration work is carried out in association with a specialist partner company, who mirror our approach.

Documents and books

Flooded archives, for example those of solicitor's and accountant's offices, represent a large potential financial loss if they get wet and start to develop mould (mold). The wet documents need immediate attention as mould (mold) spores start to grow within hours.

We are equipped to take prompt action against mould (mold) growth and have our own freezer containment store. This is used to prevent mould (mold) growth and to buy time while a recovery and drying program is organised.

We have the capacity to freeze dry documents and books to minimise damage during the drying stage.
