At the start of a drying project we need to control the
humidity. The relative humidity in occupied premises is
normally around 50%. After a flood this can rise
substantially as water evaporates. We control the
moisture in the air to prevent it being re-adsorbed by dry
materials, possibly stimulating mould growth.
Desiccant dehumidifiers: these produce air with very low
moisture content, especially useful for concrete, brick etc.
Refrigerant dehumidifiers: these are very convenient and
effective for most drying situations.
New generation refrigerant dehumidifiers: these new
types of high efficiency dehumidifier, have an internal
heat exchanger to further reduce energy costs.
If you need us to deal with a large Industrial drying
projects, we may need to use high capacity industrial
equipment. This equipment can extract very large
amounts of water and can control the environment in
huge buildings. It can extract up to 1000 litres of water
per day from the air.
We can also provide indirect fuel oil heaters with a heat
output of 65kw.These are positioned outside the property
and should not be confused with portable “space heaters,”
which introduce water vapour into the drying
environment.
A floating floor is laid on a slab of insulating material such
as polystyrene. The surface material may be a cement
based screed or chipboard. The insulated spaces can
become filled with water.
If your customer has a saturated floating floor, we can use
special techniques to release trapped moisture. This
avoids the disruption and cost of removal of the insulation
and screed.
This type of floor is common from 1990s build onwards.

"Your technician, who undertook the work at this property was very professional, efficient and a positive person to have around to help at such a stressful time following the flooding to our lounge."
